1.      What qualifications do I need to apply?

Applicants must have completed or be currently studying for a degree in any subject. Fluency in English is essential. We are looking for people with an international educational background, adaptability and an open mind to explore new things.

 2.      Do I need to have prior subject knowledge?

A majority of our applicants do have relevant knowledge or experience, however our courses are open to anyone with an interest in the subjects we offer.

3.      Are there any age restrictions? 

You must be between 18 and 28 years old.

4.      Does my nationality matter?

We accept applications from nationals of all countries. However, Chinese visa requirements may differ depending on your nationality.

5.      When is the application deadline?

We accept applications until 6 weeks before the courses start. However, we advise you to apply as early as possible in order to give yourself enough time for visa arrangements and flight booking etc.

6.      Do I need to speak Chinese?

No, all our courses are delivered in English. However, knowing at least basic Mandarin would definitely enhance your experience in China.

7.      How big will the classes be?

Typically, there are 10-15 students in each class.

8.      What are Chinese visa requirements?

The requirements differ depending on your nationality and the country from where you apply. Please consult the Chinese embassy/consulate in your country for visa requirements that are specific to you

9.      Are there certain vaccinations that are necessary for a trip to China?

It is advised to get vaccinations if you go to China and plan staying there for more than 3 months. This can be arranged through your local GP.

Certain vaccinations are often advised for China including: Tetanus, Polio, and Hepatitis. We recommend that you consult your doctor prior to traveling.

10.  What do I need to bring?

There is no dress code for attending our classes. However, we strongly advise you to bring some formal/smart clothing for attending dinners/business meetings. You will also need to bring a laptop.

11.  What do I need to do upon arrival in China?

Upon arrival, CCG representatives will meet you at the airport in Beijing. You will be taken to your accommodation and given an arrival pack containing a local SIM card, transport card and local map etc.

12.  What type of accommodation will I be living in?

All applicants will be housed in 3* hotels. You are likely to share a twin room with one other person, as well as having a common kitchen and bathroom.

13.  Who will I be living with?

You will be living with other CCG applicants who are on the same or similar programmes. If you know someone who will be on a CCG programme and would like to share a room with them, please inform CCG as soon as you can

14.  What if I have my own living arrangements?

If you have your own living arrangements, please inform CCG staff as soon as you can so that your room can be offered to someone else.

15.  Where will I be studying?

Unless otherwise stated, all our courses will be held at the University of Modern Administration in Beijing.

 16.  How much is the cost of living in China?

This is a difficult question as everyone spends differently. It ought to be remembered that food and travel is a lot cheaper in China than in England. For an authentic Chinese experience, try eating from street vendors as this is often cheap and a good opportunity to try real Chinese cuisine. There are also a wide selection of Chinese restaurants and Western bars where you can buy food.

17.  What should I do if I have any problems in China?

CCG will provide you a 24/7 emergency contact service. Our friendly staff in China will be on hand to help you with any difficulties you might have during your stay.

18.  What if I want to learn Chinese while I am in China?

China Career Gateway can arrange for you to have Chinese lessons on top of your course. Please inform a member of CCG staff as early as early possible if you wish to avail this opportunity.

19.  Is there any financial assistance available for me?

In many countries, various governmental and non-governmental bodies offer generous grants, loans and bursaries to deserving individuals who are looking to embark on journeys of personal growth and development. In addition, international offices at most universities can also provide financial assistance.
