Beijing

Beijing is the capital city of China with a population in excess of 20 million. The city has been the centre of Chinese culture, politics and education for a number of decades. As one of the four great ancient capitals of China, Beijing offers limitless opportunities for unparalleled experiences as it is home to the world famous Peking Opera, the delicious Peking Duck, the magnificent Forbidden City, the marvellous Tiananmen Square and the majestic Summer Palace.

Despite the above list of cultural and ancient attractions, it would be wrong to label Beijing as merely a historic city as it boasts a number of bars and restaurants, parks and sky-scrapers that make Beijing one of the most vibrant and exciting places in the world.

In 2008, Beijing hosted the Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games, which featured a number of stunning pieces of modern architecture such as the bird’s nest and the amazing aquatic centre.
